Prof. Byoungho Lee, Donates thirty million won to SNU College of Engineering (Digital Times, 20180621)
On the 21st, SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced that Professor Byoungho Lee of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering donated thirty million won for the education of future intellectuals in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Professor Lee’s donation will be used to purchase multiple high performance computers for the ‘Introduction to IoT, AI, Big Data and Practice’ course developed by SNU College of Engineering. SNU College of Engineering (Dean Kookheon Char) announced that Professor Byoungho Lee of the Department of ECE donated thirty million won for the education of future intellectuals in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Professor Lee’s donation will be used to purchase multiple high performance computers for the ‘Introduction to IoT, AI, Big Data and Practice’ course developed by SNU College of Engineering.
SNU College of Engineering gathered ten professors who are world authorities in the field of IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data to form a course development committee (Chair Thomas Kang). As a result, the ‘Introduction to IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Practice’ course was developed. As the Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Professor Lee is known to have paid a lot of attention and to have assisted actively.
To effectively proceed with IAB course assignments and practice sessions, high performance computers are necessary. Professor Byoungho Lee heard the news that there was a shortage of high performance computers required for the practice sessions and decided to make a donation for the purchase.
