Jaeyeon Yoon, Publishes paper in neuroimaging field top 5% journal and receives award in international conference
SNU ECE undergraduate student Jaeyeon Yoon presented his research during the ‘Annual Meeting of International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine’(6,000 participants), the largest conference in the field of MRI, which was held from June 16th to 21st in Paris, France. His paper received the ‘Magna Cum Laude’ during the conference and will be published in the October issue of ‘NeuroImage’, a top 5% journal in the field of neuroimaging.
Jaeyoon Yoon began his research as an intern at Laboratory for Imaging Science and Technology(Supervisor: Prof. Jongho Lee (B)) when he was a 3rd year undergraduate student. He has conducted research on quantitative mapping the magnetic susceptibility of brain matter by using deep neural networks.
During international collaboration with Stanford University and Harvard University based on these research results, Jaeyeon Yoon actively led the research to deeper levels, bringing about such accomplishment. The research results are expected to quantify cerebral hemorrhage, which was difficult to quantitatively map until now.
Currently Jae Yeon Yoon, together with PhD candidates, has founded a venture company(www.airsmed.com) that develops quick and accurate diagnostic technology using neuroimaging techniques based on deep neural networks.
