The Seoul National University Senate announced on the 9th that they have elected Professor Dong-Wook Kim from the Graduate School of Public Administration as the new chair for the latter half of the 17th term on the 7th of March. Professor Sung-Cheol Kim from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering was also elected as the new vice-chairperson.
Chair Dong-wook Kim graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Economics in 1982 and received a doctorate from Ohio State University in the United States. He is currently a professor in the Department of Public Administration at Seoul National University. He has previously served as vice-chair of the SNU Senate, dean of the Graduate School of Public Administration, president of the Korean Association for Public Administration, and director of the Institute for Information and Communications Policy.
Professor Sung-cheol Kim graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Seoul National University in 1984 and received his Ph.D. from New York University. He has been a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University since 1999. He has previously served as the chair of the Education Committee, director of the Office of Research, director of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Division, and director of the New Media Communications Joint Research Center at the Seoul National University Senate.
