LG Electronics announced on the 24th that it will hold the “21st regular shareholders' meeting” at 9:30 am on March 27 in the auditorium on the 1st basement floor of the east wing of LG Twin Towers, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
LG Electronics plans to propose the appointment of Professor Seo Seung-woo from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University as a new exterior director and member of the audit committee during the meeting.
Professor Seo previously served as the director of the Information Security Center at Seoul National University from 2000 to 2006, and as a visiting professor at the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford University from 2013 to 2014. Currently, he holds positions as the director of the Intelligent Car IT Research Center at Seoul National University and the president of the Korean Institute of Electronics and information Engineers.
With LG Electronics' Vehicle Component Solutions division recently achieving profitability and making a strong recovery, the company's decision to hire an expert in the automotive field is expected to bolster its competitiveness in the automotive business.
