[ECE Department] Researcher Minseok Chae (Advisor: Professor Yoonchan Jeong) Wins 2nd Place for Best Student Poster Competition in the 2023 IEEE Photonics Conference
The SNU ECE Optical Engineering and Quantum Electronics(OEQE) Laboratory 3D Display Research Team (Advisor: Professor Yoonchan Jeong) suggested the possibility of watching an image with a wider angle of view on a holographic display by utilizing lenslet arrays with converging axes. Unlike conventional methods where the user cannot watch an image under certain conditions such as the position or diameter of his/her pupil, the research team’s proposed an improvement where a small pupil can continuously observe a holographic image. This research was announced in the 2023 IEEE Photonics Conference (November 16th, 2023 / held in Orlando, United States), and was awarded 2nd place in the Best Student Poster Competition.
