A paper by researchers Park Jong-hyuk and Kim Sung-jun from the Three-Dimensional Integration and Device Lab (TIDL), led by Professor Wooyoung Choi, has been selected as the cover article for the February 2025 issue of Advanced Intelligent Systems (AIS).

AIS is a prestigious journal that covers innovative research in artificial intelligence, robotics, smart sensors, and autonomous systems, encompassing both theoretical and experimental studies aimed at advancing next-generation intelligent systems.

The specific details of the cover-selected paper in this AIS issue are as follows:

In the February 2025 issue, a neuron circuit incorporating a Compensated Current Mirror (CCM) was proposed by first author Park Jong-hyuk, effectively addressing the fan-in problem encountered in Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs). Traditional neuron circuits often suffer from nonlinearity during the Vector-Matrix Multiplication (VMM) process, leading to reduced system accuracy. In contrast, the proposed CCM circuit operates with low power consumption while maintaining high VMM linearity. These characteristics suggest that the CCM neuron circuit from this study can serve as a robust solution for achieving both high energy efficiency and computational accuracy in large-scale neuromorphic systems.
