[ECE Department] Ph.D. Candidate Dahyun Kim from Professor Yongtaek Hong’s Research Team Wins Best Paper Award (Gold) at IMID 2026


Ph.D. candidate Dahyun Kim from the Advanced Flexible Electronics Laboratory (AXEL), led by Professor Yongtaek Hong, received the Best Paper Award (Gold) at the 26th International Meeting on Information Display (IMID 2026), an international conference organized by the Korean Information Display Society (KIDS).
IMID is a leading international conference in the display field, co-organized by KIDS and the Society for Information Display (SID). This year, the conference was held at BEXCO in Busan from August 18 to 21.
The research team delivered an oral presentation in the Outstanding Students Conference (OSC) session under the title “Transparent Organic Light-Emitting Diodes with Metal Mesh Electrodes Directly Formed on Organic Layers via Area-Selective Thermal Evaporation.” The study directly formed metal-mesh transparent electrodes on organic layers by utilizing the metal-vapor-desorption phenomenon and applied them to transparent organic light-emitting diodes (OLED).
Of approximately 950 papers presented at IMID 2026, only four were selected for the Outstanding Students Conference. Following a review by the program committee based on the originality and technical significance of the research, Dahyun Kim was selected as the best presenter among them and received the Gold Award (Best Paper Award Certificate Gold).
Meanwhile, the research was featured as the Outside Front Cover in the May 2026 issue of Materials Horizons.
