The Korean Information Display Society (President: Dong Hoon Lee, full-time advisor to Samsung Display) announced that Professor Byoungho Lee (SNU ECE) will be inaugurated as the 15th president on January 1st, 2021.

KIDS, founded in 1999, is an academic organization that has played a pivotal role in the development of Korea’s display industry by promoting industry-academia research cooperation in display technology, facilitating academic exchange, and managing educational programs. It founded the International Meeting on Information Display (IMID) and raised it into one of the two major international academic conferences and publishes the Journal of Information Display, which has a history of two decades. Professor Byoungho Lee is a fellow of four international academic organizations including the Society for Information Display(SID) and served as the senior vice president of the Korean Information Display Society for the past year.

New President Byoungho Lee said, “The Korean display industry, which led the race is recently facing challenges due to China’s advances that it is overcoming with new developments in technology and with expansion into new markets. KIDS aims to support this by promoting academic exchange. There are limitations in the near future because of COVID-19, but we hope to contribute to the advance of Korea’s display industry and support members through various online academic programs, and promotion of education through webinars.”
