[Press Release] Professor Jaehyouk Choi elected as the International Technical Program Committee Far East Regional Chair of the International Solid-State Circuits Conference
[Reporter Minku Kang, EDAILY] Professor Jaehyouk Choi was elected as the International Technical Program Committee Far East Regional Chair of the International Solid-State Circuits Conference.
The International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), held annually in February in San Francisco, USA, will be held for the 72nd time since its establishment in 1954. Recognized as the world’s largest and most prestigious conference in the field of integrated circuit design, it is often referred to as the "Olympics of semiconductor design." Each year, over 4,000 semiconductor design researchers from global companies, universities, and research institutes participate to present the latest technologies and discuss the future of the semiconductor industry.
The Technical Program Committee, which is responsible for paper review, selection, and program organization, currently consists of 190 of the world’s top experts in semiconductor design. Technical Program Committee members are assigned to one of three regional committees—North America, Europe, or the Far East—based on their affiliations. Presently, the Far East Technical Program Committee comprises of 75 members from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Singapore, India and more.
Professor Jaehyouk Choi has been a member of the Technical Program Sub-Committee since 2017 and has been serving as part of the Asian delegation since 2022. Professor Choi will assume the role of “2025 ISSCC ITPC Far East Regional Chair” at the upcoming conference in February, set to take place in San Francisco. He will represent Asia on the Executive Committee, participate in the selection of new Technical Program Committee members, make decisions on conference matters, and oversee regional events.
