Schedule for Thesis Defence, Fall 2011
The schedule for Thesis Defence for M.S. students is as follows;
Those who fail to language test(TEPS, TOEFL etc.) can\'t print out bill. So please check your success or failure (please log on to http://my.snu.ac.kr) ⇒ click on 학사행정 ⇒ click on 수업관리 ⇒ click on 졸업정보 ⇒ click on 논자시내역 ⇒ click on 영어(기합격),전공(기합격) ⇒ check 종합‘합격’(Success)
○ Registration
1. Date: 18 Oct. 2011 ~ 25 Oct. 2011
2. Please log on to http://eng.snu.ac.kr/ee/ and apply your registration.
3. Please print out a copy of 석사논문심사원 from the website (the form can be printed only after registration) and submit it with 논문심사위원추천서(attached), the receipt of your payment, certificate of “The environmental protection and safety course” and certificate of “Sexual Assault prevention seminar” for the defence (about paying the fee, please see below) to Ms. Yoomin Cho. (building#301, room#319).
* Please submit first page of your thesis for Journal or Conference on 16 Nov.
* the 논문심사위원추천서 attached is for your use.
○ Paying for the Thesis Defence
1. Date: 18 Oct. 2011 ~ 25 Oct. 2011
2. Please print out your bill for your thesis defence due to the following procedure;
Please log on to http://my.snu.ac.kr/portal/site/snuep/ ⇒ click on 학사행정 ⇒ click on 수업관리 ⇒ click on 졸업정보 ⇒ click on 논문심사료 납부고지서(print out your bill)
3. Please take the printed bill and pay \\100,000 to 농협 bank and submit the receipt to Ms. Yoomin Cho with your documents(석사논문심사원, 논문심사위원추천서, receipt, certificates)
4. Date: 7 Nov. 2011 ~ 10 Nov. 2011 - Please submit 3 copies of your dissertation to Ms. Yoomin Cho. (for 4days) Please write your name, student number, degree, professors name(3 of judging panel) with a pencil in the bottom of your dissertation.
○ Date of Thesis Defence
1. Date (for M.S.): 25 Nov, 2011
2. Place :
1) Semiconductor field : Building 301, Room No. 620
2) Electric Energy field :Building 301, Room No. 713
3) Electrophysics field :Building 301, Room No. 920A
4) Information, Telecommunications & Radio Sciences field :Building 132, Room No. 307
5) Control, Instrumentation & Factory Automation field : Building 301, Room No. 821
6) Computer & VLSI Systemsfield : Building 301, Room No. 612
3. Presentation time is total 25 minutes. (presentation:15minutes, Q&A and changing student: 10minutes)
4. You can use bell if you want. (But you need to ask your friend to ring a bell.)
5. When thesis defence(On 25 Nov.), you have to prepare following documents.
1) 석사학위논문심사요지, 석사학위논문심사 평가서 및 논문상 추천서 : These are to submit to the head of the committee (of your thesis defence) before you start your defence. The head of the committee will fill out these forms and return it to you after you finish your defence. Please submit the completed forms to Ms. Yoomin Cho (building#301, room#319)
2) 석사우수논문심사대상 자체평가서 (optional) : This form is to recommend your thesis paper by yourself to the Master Thesis Award committee. This form is optional to submit.
6. Following documents have to be submitted to Ms. Yoomin Cho by 16 Dec. 2011.
1)석사학위논문심사요지 (1 copy)
2)우수논문상 추천서
(1 copy, only candidate of excellent thesis award need to submit it.)
3)석사학위논문심사요지 (1copy)
4)A minimum of 1 academic paper in an internationally or domestically renowned journal or conference as the first author.
5)1 copy of your abstract (If your thesis is English, then you have to submit English abstract, if your thesis is Korean, then you have to submit Korean abstract.)
○ After you pass the defence
1. Please upload your Thesis PDF to library.snu.ac.kr by 31 Jan, 2012 after you pass the defence.
2. Please submit 4 hard copies (one original, three photocopied ones) of your thesis to the Central Library, : 1 Feb, 2012 ~ 3 Feb, 2012.
* Please make sure that you have returned all your rented books to the Central Library before you submit your thesis. The Central Library won\'t take your thesis unless you have returned them all.
3. Please submit 학위논문제출확인서 to Ms. Yoomin Cho (Please visit the office or e-mail to soojee@snu.ac.kr) (The Central Library will issue this note of confirmation, when you submit your thesis)
4. Graduation ceremony will be held on 26 Feb. 2012.
