Glo-harmony Scholarship

Overview

Seoul National University has been one of collaborative institutions of the Samsung Dream Scholarship Foundation’s Glo-harmony Scholarship Program(domestic scholarship for students from developing nations). The program started from spring semester of 2008. SNU will select approximately four undergraduate/graduate students among applicants from developing countries for the Spring semester of 2014.

Eligibility Criteria

▪        Students from DAC recipient country_check attached file

▪        Undergraduate or graduate students

▪        Undergraduate students: going into first, second or third year in Spring 2014

▪        Demonstrating financial need

▪        Majoring in Humanities or Social Sciences are given priority

▪        Applicants from combatant nations of the Korean War(Colombia, Ethiopia, the Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey) are given priority in 2014

▪        Willing and capable of contributing to their home country upon graduation

▪        Having potential to become a global leader

▪        Language proficiency of either English or Korean is highly recommended, but not compulsory

Value of Scholarship

Undergraduate

▪        Full tuition fee is provided by SNU starting from Spring 2014(Maximum of 8 semesters)

▪        Scholarships will be revised and renewed every year depending on their grades(minimum of 2.7), study ability, improvements in Korean Language, and fund availability at the time of renewal

▪        Financial support (dormitory fee, insurance, text books, food, etc.) will be provided by Samsung Dream Scholarship Foundation

Graduate:

▪        Financial support will be provided by Samsung Dream Scholarship Foundation

Procedure & Important Dates

Application deadline: Jan. 17(Fri.), 2014 18:00

First Screening: Feb. 3(Mon.) ~ 7(Fri.), 2014

Interview: Feb. 24(Mon.) ~ 28(Fri.)

         * Only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted

Results: Early Mar.

        * Only finalcandidates will be notified by the foundation.
