if you have korean name officially, you may write the name(A)
but if you dont have korean name, you may write english nickname(B)

if you do not choose neither A nor B, your korean name in SNU system will be automatically marked 'last name'
keep note that only your english name in SNU system will be marked in all of certificates including the diploma.

영문성명 표기법에 따른 영문이름 수정 (Changing Student's English Name by SNU rules)

1. 목적 (Purpose) : 영문학위기와 영문성적표 등에 표기되는 영문을 통일하고자 함
To unify the standards written on the diploma or official transcripts issued by SNU in English

2. 대상 (Who) : 모든 학생(재학생, 휴학생, 수료생) , All Students

3. 방법 (How) : ''마이스누-나의정보-종합정보-개인정보수정-영문성명''에서 직접 수정
Mysnu site (https://my.snu.ac.kr) login -> Academic Affairs -> Modify Personal Info -> Student Info -> Personal Info "English Name"

4. 신청기간 (Application Deadline) : until October 31, 2020
- 신청기간까지 변경하지 않은 학생은 행정실에서 규정에 맞게 자동으로 변경됨
-  If you don't change your English name until October 31, it will be changed automatically by SNU rules.

5. 주의사항(Caution)

-  여권상 영문성명과 동일한 알파벳으로 표기
It must be written in the same alphabet as the English name on the passport.

- 성은 모두 대문자로 기재하고, 이름은 띄어쓰기 단위 첫 알파벳만 대문자로 기재한다.
All surnames must be written in capital letters, and only the first alphabet in spacing units must be written in capital letters.

- 여러 국적의 여권을 소지한 경우 : 한국 여권상 영문성명과 동일하게 표기
If you have passports from multiple countries, you must register them with the English name on your Korean passport.

- 영어 알파벳 이외 다른 언어 철자 사용 불가
Spelling of languages other than the English alphabet is not allowed. (Only English alphabet is allowded.)

• 특수문자 사용을 희망하는 경우에는, 특수문자는 하이픈(-)만 사용 가능
  If you want, you can use only hyphen ('-') among special characters.
