SNU Global EDGE Fellowship Program for Fall 2026

We are pleased to announce that applications for the SNU Global EDGE Fellowship Program for Fall 2026 are now open. Please carefully review the scholarship details provided below and submit your application within the specified deadline.
1. SNU Global EDGE Fellowship Program
As part of Seoul National University’s “Brain Korea 21 Four Project,” this scholarship aims to attract and nurture exceptional students from diverse backgrounds, fostering a dynamic intellectual community.
2. Eligibility Criteria (All requirements must be met)
1) New doctoral students admitted in the 2nd semester of 2026 at our university (with no restrictions regarding the admission track, nationality, or undergraduate/graduate institution), or students currently enrolled in an integrated master’s and doctoral program who have entered the doctoral stage in the 2nd semester of 2026.
※ If there are not enough eligible applicants, eligibility may be extended to students admitted (or having entered the doctoral stage) as far back as the 2nd semester of 2025.
※ Students on a leave of absence are not eligible.
2) International Students majoring in a department affiliated with a team/educational group sponsored by the “Brain Korea 21 Four Project.”
3) Currently engaged in research supported by the “Brain Korea 21 Four Project” as of the 2nd semester of 2026, and not receiving a scholarship from the research group itself.
4) NOT receiving any other scholarships that provide tuition waiver or scholarships from other Brain Korea 21 Four Research Projects.
3. Scholarship Benefits
- Full tuition coverage
- Monthly stipend of KRW 1,800,000
4. Scholarship Duration (within the standard program duration)
- Up to the 1st semester of 2027, when the BK21 Four Project ends
▶Recipients must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.3 to retain the scholarship.
▶ Continued participation in the “BK21 Four Project” is required to maintain eligibility.
- Continued eligibility is reviewed at the end of each semester (academic results) and at the beginning of each semester (BK21 Four participation).
5. Required Documents
⊙ Completed application form (attached form)
⊙ Academic transcripts and graduation certificates (both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees)
* For Combined Master’s & Doctorate students, only documents related to the Bachelor’s degree are required.
⊙ Recommendation letter from a professor in the applicant’s department at SNU
⊙ BK 21 Four Project Research Participation Confirmation Documents
(submit both of the following documents)
- 1. BK21 Four Project Participation Confirmation (attached form)
(BK참여대학원생 확인서, attached form)
- 2. Research Participation Confirmation
(참여연구원 확인서, can be printed through the SRnD system)
6. Deadline
- Submit the required documents via email to smlee1220@snu.ac.kr (Attn: Semi Lee) by Wednesday, September 23, 2026
7. Interview and Announcement of Final Results
- Interview: October 2026 (only those who have passed the document screening will be contacted by email)
- Final results: November 2026 (individual notice by email, and an official notice sent to the relevant college/graduate school)

In case of any discrepancy between the Korean and English versions, the Korean version shall prevail.
