Education

Soo-Mook Moon received the B.S. degree in computer engineering in 1987 from Seoul National University, Korea and the M.S. and the Ph.D. degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, in 1990 and 1993, respectively.

Career

During the summer of 1991 and during 1992-1993, he was a co-op student at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Height, N.Y., USA, where he developed the IBM VLIW compiler. During 1993-1994, he was a software design engineer at the Hewlett-Packard Company in California Language Lab where he contributed to the development of an optimizing compiler for the PA-RISC CPUs. Since 1994, he has been with the faculty of the Seoul National University in School of Electrical Engineering where he is now a full professor. Dung the summer of 1997, he was a visiting scientist at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. During the year of 2002, he was a visiting professor at Sun Microsystems in Menlo Park, CA.
