Education

Namkyoo Park received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in 1987 and 1988, respectively, from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, and Brown University, Providence, U.S.A., in physics. He finishied his Ph.D. degree in 1994 from California Institute of Technology.

Career

Since 1997, he has worked as a professor in the school of electrical engineering and computer science at Seoul National University. From 1996 to 1997, he participated in the development of high capacity optical transmission systems in Samsung Electronics. From 1994 to 1996, he was with AT&T Bell laboratories, Murray Hill, U.S.A., as a postdoctoral researcher. He is currently serving as member of LEOS long range planning committee, and Associate Editor of Photonics Technology Letters (IEEE), Associate Editor of Optics Express (OSA), as well Associate Editor of Optical Fiber Technology (Academic Press).
