About the Laboratory & Research Area
Mobile cummunications laboratory was founded in February 1996 and is directed by Lee, Kwang Bok (the Associate Professor in School of Electrical Engineering, Seoul National University).
Mobile communication laboratory performs research on communication systems and theories, signal processing, and implementation for 5G mobile communication system, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X), Device-to-Device (D2D) communication system and Massive MIMO. In addition, We are trying new approaches, such as research on applying compression sensing and machine learning techniques to communication systems, which have gained much attention recently, and research on application of graphical modeling and message passing algorithms to high-density communication systems, for improving next generation communication system. Mobile communication laboratory is leading the research of next generation mobile communication based on excellent technology and excellent talents.
Mobile communication laboratory shows excellent results in Research accomplishment. In thesis, 61 of International journals, 88 of International conferences and a number of domestic journal and conferences have been written. MCL hold 52 International patents and 45 domestic patents. Moreover, MCL received many prizes at various Best Paper awards. Research accomplishments are increasing every year with steady efforts.
