Abstract:

 The mathematics of advanced investment analytics originates from stochastic control theory, which has been widely applied to engineering for decades. The keys to a robust institutional implementation are scalable architecture, effective delivery, and ability to process a massive amount of unstructured data, which are not handled well by over 95% of the existing legacy systems in use by financial institutions today. The technology foundations to enable advanced investment analytics are AI, Big Data and Cloud-based High-Performance Computing. In this talk, I will discuss how advanced investment analytics can revolutionize the financial industry through the use of real-life use cases, and why the major fintech disruptions in the institutional space are most likely to start in Asia as it did in the retail fintech space.
