Sensors are of importance in broad applications in modern engineering. The speaker’s group has been working on developing a variety of sensors and sensor systems for the applications of biochemical detection, healthcare, environmental surveillance, and so on.  This presentation will cover an overview of recent and current sensor research activities at Louisiana State University.  Selected topics include a portable sensing platform using light emitting diodes and a photodetector for environmental sensing, inkjet printing technology and printed sensors for paper-based biochemical detection, and flexible sensors on elastomer for highly sensitive pressure sensing.  Additionally, other on-going projects will briefly be introduced including sensor systems for smart city applications.
