Announcement of the Foreign Language Examination for International Students’ Thesis Submission Qualification(Including Korean),

대학원 외국인학생이 논문제출자격시험 중 외국어시험에 합격하기 위해서는
다음 3가지 방법 중 1가지를 선택하면 됩니다.

Ⅰ. 한국어시험 응시: 매학기 3월, 9월에 서울대학교 교무처에서 주관
Ⅱ. 한국어수업 수강: [한국어와 한국문화1] 또는 [한국어와 한국문화2]
Ⅲ. 영어성적 제출: New TEPS, TOEFL(iBT)

Ⅰ. 한국어시험 응시

붙임1(2025-2학기 한국어시험 실시 계획 및 응시원서) 참고

1. 응시원서 제출
  가. 제출기간: 2025. 8. 25.(월) ~ 9. 1.(월) ★날짜 확인!!
  나. 제출방법: 응시원서(붙임1 참고) 작성 및 출력 → 본인 서명 및 지도교수 서명(또는 날인) → 학부행정실 담당자에게 제출(301동 319호)

2. 한국어시험(필답고사)
  가. 시험일: 2025. 9. 19.(금) 9:30 ~ 10:30(60분) ※ 9:20까지 시험장소 지정석에 착석
  나. 시험장소: 39동 B103호

3. 유의사항
  가. 학생증 또는 신분증(외국인등록증) 지참
  나. 석박통합과정은 박사과정 응시대상임

Ⅱ. 한국어수업 수강
1. 논문제출자격시험 대체 교과목을 수강함. 단, 수료학점에는 불포함.
2. 교과목명: [한국어와 한국문화 1], [한국어와 한국문화 2].
3. “C-이상” 또는 “S" 성적을 취득한 경우 한국어시험을 면제함.
   ※ 수료하는 학기 이전에 반드시 수강해야 함

Ⅲ. 영어성적 제출

붙임2(논문제출자격시험 영어과목 기준 점수) 참고

1. 영어가 모국어, 공용어, 공식언어가 아닌 외국인학생은 영어시험 성적표를 학부행정실 담당자에게 제출(301동 319호)
  ★유효기간(2년 이내)을 경과하지 않아야 함
2. 영어시험 성적표 제출기간: 2025. 8. 25.(월) ~ 9. 1.(월) ★날짜 확인!!
3. 기준점수: 붙임2 참고!!
4. 영어가 모국어, 공용어, 공식언어인 외국인학생은 한국어시험 응시 또는 한국어수업 수강만 가능함.

In order for a graduate foreign student to pass the foreign language test during the thesis submission qualification test
You can choose one of the following three methods.

Ⅰ. Korean language test: Every semester in March and September, Seoul National University's teacher's office organizes the examination
II. Korean language classes: [Korean and Korean culture 1] or [Korean and Korean culture 2]
III. English grade submission: New TEPS, TOEFL (iBT)


I. Taking the Korean language test

Please refer to Attachment 1 (Plan to conduct the Korean language test for the 2022-2 semester and application form)

1. submitting an application
A. Submission period: August 25, 2025 (Mon) ~ September 1, (Mon) ★ Check the date!!
B. Method of submission: Prepare and print an application (see attached 1) → Self-signed and supervisor's signature (or seal) → Submission to the person in charge of the undergraduate administration office (301-319)

2. Korean language test (written test)
A. Test date: September 19, 2025 (Friday) 9:30 to 10:30 (60 minutes) ※ Sit in the designated seat of the test site by 9:20
B. Test site: 39 - B103

3. Precautions
A. Bring your student card or ID card (foreign resident registration card)
B. The integrated stone foil course is subject to the Ph.D. program

※If you wish to take the Korean language test (oratory test), please contact soyeon12@snu.ac.kr

Ⅱ. Taking Korean language classes
1. Taking an alternative course for the thesis submission qualification test: Provided, That credits for completion are not included.
2. Course Name: [Korean Language and Korean Culture 1], [Korean Language and Korean Culture 2].
3. Exempted from the Korean language test if you have obtained a "C-above" or "S" grade.
※ Must be taken before the completion of the semester


III. Submission of English grades

Refer to Attachment 2 (Score based on English subjects for the thesis submission qualification test)

1. Foreign students whose English is not their first language, official language, or official language submit their English test report to the person in charge of the undergraduate administration office (301-319)
★ Expiration date (within 2 years) must not be expired
2. English test report report submission period: August 25, 2025 (Mon) ~ September 1, (Mon) ★ Check the date!!
3. Reference Score: Attachment 2 Note!!
4. Foreign students whose English is their first language, official language, and official language can only take the Korean language test or take Korean language classes.
