1. Application for Scholarship Candidates who wish to receive GSFS should apply for admission and SNU. During online application, the candidate MUST apply for the scholarship at the same time.

Please note the following important dates for Spring 2026 admission
☞ The dates above are subject to change depending on the circumstances.
To be considered for the Graduate Scholarship for Foreign Students (GSFS), applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:
(a) Nationality: The applicant and both of their parents must not hold Korean nationality.
(b) Educational Background: The applicant must have completed their entire education outside of Korea. This means all schooling equivalent to Korean education from the first year of elementary school through to the final year of a bachelor's program must have been undertaken in countries other than Korea.
(c) Academic Qualifications: The applicant must hold an appropriate academic degree (or its recognized equivalent) from an accredited institution outside Korea, as follows: For Master's or Combined Master's & Doctoral Programs: A bachelor's degree or higher For Doctoral Programs: A master's degree or higher
(d) Program Selection: The applicant must apply to one of the designated colleges or schools participating in the GSFS Program for the Spring 2026 intake. (Please refer to the list of participating colleges/schools provided elsewhere in this catalogue.)
(e) Admission to SNU: The applicant must not only apply but also be successfully admitted to Seoul National University for the Spring 2026 semester.
The evaluation and selection of GSFS recipients are conducted independently by each graduate school at Seoul National University. This decentralized approach allows for a comprehensive assessment tailored to the specific standards and requirements of each academic discipline. When reviewing applications, the selection committees consider a holistic range of factors to identify outstanding candidates. These factors include:
·The applicant's overall academic trajectory and potential
·Performance in previous studies, as evidenced by transcripts and grades
·The quality and feasibility of the proposed study plan
·The depth and sincerity of the personal statement
·Any additional achievements or qualifications relevant to the chosen field of study
