SNU Global Scholarship (GS) for Fall 2026

We are pleased to announce the call for the SNU Global Scholarship (GS) for Fall 2026.

1. Eligibility
SNU Global Scholarship is open to international students enrolled in (or newly
admitted to) a graduate degree program at Seoul National University. (Nondegree students are NOT eligible.)

2. Scholarship Period: One regular semester/ 6 months (Fall 2026)

3. Scholarship Benefits
Scholarship Type
* Applicants may receive either GS 1 or GS 2. Korean Language Training can be awarded along with GS 1 or GS 2.
1) Global Scholarship 1 (GS 1)
• Full tuition waiver
• Monthly stipend of KRW 1,200,000
• Airfare support (one-time)
o Arrival airfare: Only for newly admitted students who (1) entered Korea
within 60 days before the scholarship selection notification date, or (2) enter
Korea after the notification.
o Departure airfare: Provided only to students who maintain GS scholar status
until graduation and graduate in February 2027, then depart Korea before
March 1st, 2027.
2) Global Scholarship 2 (GS 2)
• Full tuition waiver
3) Korean Language Training
• Tuition waiver for the Korean Language Special Program, Evening Class
Fall 2026 session only (one session)
• May be received in addition to GS 1 or GS 2
• Applicants MUST state this request in the “Reason for Application”

★ Important:
- Applicants must have at least one remaining regular semester in their program as of Fall 2026.
Students who complete all degree coursework by September 2026 are NOT eligible.
- Students who are currently on a leave of absence or plan to take a leave of absence during the scholarship period are NOT eligible.
- For GS Korean Only (Korean Language Training) applicants, exceptions may be made only if there are remaining slots in the respective college quota.

4. Application Period
June 29, 2026 (Monday) at 9:00 AM – July 12, 2026 (Sunday) at 11:00 PM (KST)
Applications must be submitted online through the mySNU portal. Failure to submit an application within the application period will result in disqualification.

5. Application Procedure
1.Log in to your mySNU account (https://my.snu.ac.kr/)
(New students must first create their mySNU account.)
2.Navigate to
Academic Affairs → Scholarship → Apply/Status → Apply for Scholarship
(Alternative path: Academic Affairs → My Info → Student Info → General Application
Information)
3.Find the notice for SNU Global Scholarship Program and click “Apply.”
4.Fill out:
- Reason for application (within 400 characters)
- (No video URL needed — extra points for video submissions have been discontinued as of 2026.)

Important:
Students who wish to apply for Korean Language Training MUST clearly state it in the application reason (e.g., “I wish to receive support for Korean Language Training.”)

6. Selection Process
1. Screening by each college/department
o All students: July 13, 2026 (Mon) – July 31, 2026 (Fri)
o GS 1 or GS 2 will be assigned based on screening results and each college/department’s allocated quota.
Note: The extra points for video links used in past years have been abolished.
2. Final announcement by the Office of Global Affairs (OGA)
o All students: August 11, 2026 (Tuesday) at 6:00 PM (KST)
o Only selected applicants will receive an email notification.
Applicants who are NOT selected will not receive an email.

7. Important Notice
If a scholarship recipient takes a leave of absence after being selected, the scholarship eligibility will be revoked, and any scholarship funds already received must be returned in accordance with the relevant regulations.
