SNU ECE Prof. Seung-Woo Seo, who is leading SNU Intelligent Vehicle IT Research Center, appeared at the National Assembly in person to talk about the difficulties of developing urban self-driving technology.

It was announced that the SNU team of Prof. Yong Sang Song(Seoul National University Hospital) and Prof. Sunghoon Kwon(Dept. of ECE) analyzed genomes and constructed phylogenetic trees that visualize evolution in the shape of branches in order to investigate the genetic evolution of ovarian cancer cells.
SNU ECE undergraduate student Jaeyeon Yoon presented his research during the ‘Annual Meeting of International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine’(6,000 participants), the largest conference in the field of MRI, which was held from June 16th to 21st in Paris, France.
It was announced on the 13th that researchers of KAIST and Seoul National University won the Google AI Focused Research Awards Program for the first time as a Korean. The award recipients are professor Sung Ju Hwang and Steven Whang of KAIST, and professors Bohyung Han and Wonyong Sung of SNU.
SNU and Samsung Electronics decided to expand the ‘SNU-SEC Semiconductor Special Education Program’, which was limited to Master’s and PhD students, to undergraduate students.
“This will be a block-chain research organization that will go beyond Korea to represent East Asia. In particular, we will not focus only on pure academic research but stay in close proximity to the industrial field and contribute to technological development in actual businesses.”
SNU ECE is planning to recruit two talented female faculty members from “all fields of electrical and computer engineering”(fields related to electricity, electronics, control, computer, etc.).
