KAIST revealed on the 21st that its prof. Meeyong Cha prof. Kyomin Jung of Dept. of electrical and computer engineering co-developed a deep learning technique which can separate articles with irrelevant titles and implemented a click-bait headlines filtering model.

Thordrive(CEO Dongkyoung Gye), which successfully launched its autonomous driving delivery service recently in Silicon Valley, the United States, will run a trial service of its autonomous driving technology with Korea’s largest discount chain.

The significance comes from the fact that this technology is not simply an imitation of other techniques, but rather a novel control mechanism which overcomes the limitations of hardware and surpasses existing technologies in terms of performance.

On December 12th, 2018, officials of LG CNS visited our department to discuss matters of cooperation and donated a workstation to the research lab of professor Bohyung Han.

On December 21st, 2018, final projects of the course “Introduction to Intelligent Systems” were presented at the Ryu Hoi Jin Library. The department provided pizza for the students to share at the end of the day.

Professor Seung Il Moon was newly selected as a senior member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea. The National Academy of Korea chose a total of 42 new senior members in 2019 including 23 people from academia and 19 people from industries and government-funded research institutes.
