Under the sponsorship from BK21 plus project, department of electrical and computer engineering of SNU participated in the booth presentation at the 40th International Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC), which was held from July 17th to 21st in Hawaii, the United States.

On November 21st, 2018, executives and working level staffs of Google, including CEO John Lee, CEO Junsung Hong, and Manager Aimin Zhu, visited our department and discussed cooperation possibilities such as expanding internship programs for students.

There was an event held in the auditorium B103 of building 39. Students enrolled in the graduate course ‘Neural Prosthesis’ of ECE invited people who are actually using the technologies they study to exchange knowledge and information and to encourage each other.

Researcher Dongup Kwon, currently a PhD student in department of electrical and computer engineering of SNU (Supervisor: Jangwoo Kim), received the 2018 Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) fellowhip at the ‘Computing in the 21st Century Conference & Asia Faculty Summit’, which was held in Beijing China on the 6th-7th of November.

Professor Byonghyo Shim and researcher Hyoungju Ji (PhD candidate) received the Best Paper Award at the 24th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), which was held in Ningbo, China on November 12th.

Professors Saewoong Bahk and Sunghyun Choi served as General Co-Chair and Technical Program Co-Chair respectively at the IEEE International Symposium on Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN), which was successfully held from Octorber 25th to 28th at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Seoul.
